Africa holds 13.4% of the global population but hosts only 1.1% of the world’s scientific research.

Africa has one scientist/engineer per 10,000 people whereas industrialized nations as scientists/engineers to 10,000 people

Investments in Africa telecoms is behind other regions apart from Oceania. Africa = 4%, Europe = 32%, America = 22%, Africa = 4% Oceania = 2%
