Advertising Motivation You will be in groups of 3-6 people. You are a member of Super Ad Agency. ◦ You all have advanced degrees in Psychology You will create an ad to present to the Big Money corporation.

Advertising Motivation In your presentation: Create a written/drawn or spoken ad ◦ Art supplies are in the back of the room. ◦ Appeal to a need that people have (Maslow’s Hierarchy) ◦ You get to pick the product you’re selling Create a name & slogan to motivate the buyer by promising some internal state of pay off ◦ More fun, pleasure, excitement, satisfaction… After you’ve pitched/presented your ad – you will explain to the audience the why your ad will work: Explain what need you used & how it fits into Maslow’s Hierarchy. Use drive reduction theory to show why you chose your name & slogan to pitch the product  Example – new toothpaste could be “Deelish” (hunger), “heavenly “ (pain avoidance), “steamy” (sex) Presentations will begin at 1:55 today
