What is the PACE Network? PACE = Professional Activities Committees for Engineers The PACE Network is a grassroots network of IEEE volunteers and committees organized at the section and chapter level in the United States with support from their respective IEEE Regions and IEEE-USA. The goal of the PACE Network is to promote the professional interests of IEEE's U.S. members as well as provide a mechanism for communication of members' views on their professional needs. _________________

Resources for the PACE Network _________________ IEEE-USA Annual Meeting Section PACE Chairs are invited to attend the meeting for networking opportunities and to gain and learn valuable skills and resources 2006 Annual Meeting was held in St. Louis, MO on 3-5 March, Presentations from the meeting can be found at: Annual Meeting will be held 31 August – 3 September. Location and details will be announced soon.

Resources for the PACE Network _________________ PACE Web Site: IEEE-USA provides a web site designed specifically for the PACE Network: The PACE Web Site contains PACE funding request forms, ideas for PACE projects, sample projects, PACE Regional Contact information, and step by step instructions of how to hold a Member Professional Awareness Conference (M-PAC), a Student Professional Awareness Conference (S-PAC) and a Student Professional Awareness Venture (S-PAV).

Sample PACE Network Programs & Activities _________________ Member Professional Awareness Conference (M-PAC) M-PACs are professional awareness conferences that consist of non-technical topics such as career strategy, career makeover, leadership and communication skills, ethics, project management, etc. Step by step instructions can be found on the PACE web site at:

Sample PACE Network Programs & Activities _________________ EWeek Future City Competition The mission of the National Engineers Week Future City Competition is to provide a fun and exciting educational engineering program for seventh- and eighth-grade students that combines a stimulating engineering challenge with a "hands-on" application to present their vision of a city of the future. Details on how to participate on the Future City Competition can be found at:

Sample PACE Network Programs & Activities _________________ Example of Future City Competition: Region 5 North Texas 2006 Future City Competition Judging Middle School Design Details of this particular competition can be found at at:

How Do I get funding for PACE Programs & Activities? _________________ IEEE-USA offers funding of PACE programs through your Region Funding forms can be found on the PACE Web Site at: After you complete the funding form, contact your Regional PACE Coordinator for approval.
