Indian Epics Indian epic poetry is the epic poetry written in the Indian subcontinent, traditionally called Kavya. The cause of Indian epics were to let Indians record their greatest epics which were traditionally passed down orally for many centuries. The two greatest epic poems of India were Ramayana and Mahabharata.

RAMAYANA Ramayana was the tale of Rama, an incarnation of God Vishnu. It depicts the workings of relationships, portraying ideal characters like the ideal father, servant, wife and king.
