BELLWORK What comes to mind when you think of the word "massacre"? (what words do you associate with it?)

Boston Massacre – March 5 th 1770 Known as the Incident on King Street by the British Heavily propagandized event in Boston which resulted in the death of 5 colonists. Helped turn colonists against the British John Adams wrote "the foundation of American independence was laid"

Stamp Act 1765 stamp act: unpopular taxes that would lead to the rise of organized protest groups...direct tax on the colonies of British America and required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp. These printed materials were legal documents, magazines, playing cards, newspapers and many other types of paper used throughout the colonies. Like previous taxes, the stamp tax had to be paid in valid British currency, not in colonial paper money.

Bullying Evidence/Data: School uniforms would result in students looking basically the same. Therefore, it would reduce bullying due to appearance. Reasoning: The school should try to reduce bullying. Schools should be safe places for everyone, because people need to feel safe to learn CLAIM: The school should require school uniforms COUNTERARGUMENT/COUNTERCLAIM: Wouldn’t bullies just find other reasons to pick on others? Response to Counterargument: No. Class distinctions are a key cause of bullying. Having uniforms would eliminate a lot of bullying because it would equalize students of various incomes and background
