Demonstrating the Quality of Training CALMet 2015

Quality is subjective. It cannot be objectively determined. True and False?

Time is precious. Money is limited. Expertise is difficult to develop.

Reputation is our livelihood.

Quality is not absolute.

Results are the measure of quality. Results are hard to measure.

Then how do we set quality standards?

Our goal: Consistent, sharable quality criteria for every organization—large, small, global, regional, local Does not preclude organization-specific criteria Does not constitute a requirement

Categories 1.Institutional Quality 2.Process Quality 3.Product Quality

Prioritization Rank the criteria Considering: 1.Importance to quality 2.Effort required to research (users) 3.Effort required to demonstrate (providers) 4.Information we prefer to share (providers)

How do we demonstrate the quality of training? It takes time It has intrinsic value User connections bring benefits Poster session activity for brainstorming solutions
