Alumni Programming & Engagement Kimberly Lowe & Craig Little

Time & Change! Alumni Association

Brainstorming NEW Ideas: Students Young Alumni (under age of 30) Alumni with Families Seasoned Alumni Donors & Friends Alumni Association

Assessment of Current Engagement: What do you consider to be your signature program? What is one of your general alumni events? What programs are student related or students with alumni? What activity centers around community service? What is your Young Alumni Event? What program targets your Donors and Friends? Alumni Association

Event Purpose & Planning Guide What is the strategic Objective of the Event? What is the Goal of your Event? Who is the target audience? What is the cost? What are your metrics? How will you know if the event was a success? What is your post-event follow-up? Alumni Association

Your attendees will be promised: Advance my career Learn something Get access to something I couldn’t otherwise get access to Make a difference for my alma mater or my community See people I care about And + have fun! Review Standard Suggested Timelines when planning Alumni Association

Group Project In groups of 4-5, pick an idea from the list of new programs we brainstormed earlier and walk through the Event Purpose Worksheet. We will give you 10 minutes and then we will have 20 minutes to report out Alumni Association

Maximize your potential: Collaborate with other clubs and/or societies Participate with programs OSUAA is already sponsoring Diversify your programming by offering a variety of programs Ask yourself, what was our ROI (Return on Our Investment)? Did it lead to new volunteers? Did you see an increase in giving to scholarship endowment? Did you get a first time attendee? What percentage of attendees were repeat participants? Alumni Association
