Lesson 12 Matthew 7:13-23

Matthew 7:15-20 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Only Two Paths Matthew 7:13-14

Only Two Paths Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13-14

Only Two Paths Thus says the Lord:" Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it. ‘ Jeremiah 6:16

Only Two Paths Jesus said to him, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

By their fruit Matthew 7:15-20

By their Fruit For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 2 Peter 2:18-19

By their Fruit You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Matthew 7:16-18

By their Fruit Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 7:19

By their Fruit Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:20

Dismissal of the Unknown Not everyone who says to Me, ' Lord, Lord, ‘shall enter the kingdom of heaven… Matthew 7:21a

Dismissal of the Unknown …but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Matthew 7:21b

Dismissal of the Unknown Many will say to Me in that day, ' Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? ‘ Matthew 7:22

Dismissal of the Unknown He who is of God hears God 's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.“ John 8:47 " If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15

Dismissal of the Unknown And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! ‘ Matthew 7:23
