Who he was Alexander Graham Bell was a man who was famous for inventing the telephone. Why did he invent the telephone ? How did he invent the telephone ? The answers are in this biography.

His life story part one Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh in When he was young he was fascinated by sound and he used to go to the woods and listen to the earth’s wonders. Sometimes when he had been to the woods he would say if you listened hard enough you could even hear the plants growing. And when he grew up to be an adult, life became fun and a little bit annoying…

His life story part two In 1870 Alexander moved to Canada with his parents. In Canada he got a job as a teacher, scientist, inventor, engineer and like his father he taught deaf people to speak. Also in Canada he got married and he and his wife had two daughters and two sons. Alexander and his wife were a very happy couple and his wife was very proud of her husband because of this…

His life story part three Alexander Graham Bell was a great inventor and he invented lots terrific things like the phonograph, metal detector and the telephone. But how in the world did he make the telephone ? He and another man called Elisha Grey both wanted to invent the telephone. They both created the telephone successfully and got to the patent office exactly the same day ! But unfortunately for Elisha Grey the patent thought that Alexander’s telephone was better than poor Elisha’s ! So Elisha went home unhappy but not heartbroken and Alexander went home and did a terrible thing…

His life story part four Alexander Graham Bell sadly died in 1922 at the age of 75 in Nova Scotia. At his funeral a requiem sung by Robert Louis Stevenson was played and when it finished it was the sign that it was the end of Alexander’s life.
