The magazine i created Beatz, is a rnb/ hip-hop magazine focusing on the urban culture and music. The magazine features artists from all over the world upcoming and old. The magazine will be sold in the UK and America

forms and conventions of real music magazines. My magazine follows the conventions of a magazine, to make the front cover, contents page and double page spread. I thought it would be more suitable to use as many conventions as i possibly could to make my magazine more professional and eye catching for the reader. An important convention for my magazine was to make sure my colour scheme was kept simple and followed a consistency of colours (black, red, and yellow because the colours will make my magazine stand out from other magazines.

Social groups/target audience The type of social group my magazine is going to be aimed towards is mainly the black ethnic minority who are main young. The target audience is young people aged between On a geographic scale m magazine will mainly be Sold in London and America.

Institutions that might distribute my magazine. My magazine is quite a laid back magazine so the institutions that would be selling my magazine are going to be place like hair salons and barber, all music shops, hip-hop clothing retailers such as yukka shop and jays. Also corner shops where there is a high black population.

How did you attract/ address your audience? I attracted my audience by using bold letters for my masthead to attract and catch the readers eye and to stand out against the other magazines. Also i used my main image big, so it coverd the whole front page to draw attention, and make the audience wonder who the person is. I used quotes to draw the attention to the front page so the audience would want ot reasd in.,

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing your magazine? I have learnt alot of things that i would have had not learnt if not doing the magazine, such as: Photography I learnt how to use lightning in the different shots and how to shoot goo quality pictures. Photoshop I learnt how to use Photoshop to edit my photos used in my magazine.

How have I progressed from my school magazine?

I progressed from my school magazine as I have learnt the techniques used to produce a magazine worthy of being sold. I have learnt from other magazines such as vibe how a magazine should look like and the contents it should acquire. I also learnt the technology such as Photoshop in how to edit my photos to make them look more professional. When I first made my school magazine, I just used the basics such as publisher to make my school magazine.
