Digestive system Digestive system is important, because this system breaks down food into the smallest part then the blood carry this particle to the cells throughout the body. The digestion of the food start in the mouth then after chewing it, the food breaks down into smaller particle.
Mouth The beginning of the digestive track Mouth breaks down food by chewing.
Esophagus Receives food from the mouth when we swallow. Delivers food in the stomach.
Gallblader a small pear-shaped organ that stores and concentrates bile connected to the liver by the hepatic duct approximately 3 to 4 inches (7.6 to 10.2 cm) long and about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide.
Small intestine Small intestine breaks down food using enzymes released by the pancreas and bile from the liver. Made up of 3 part, the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum.
Large intestine -The large intestine absorbs water, electrolytes, and a few vitamins. The length of time taken for food to pass through the colon largely depends on fibre intake.
Pancreas The first segment of the small intestine. these enzymes break down protein, fats, and carbohydrates.
Rectum Rectum is an 8-inch chamber that connects the colon to the anus. The rectum’s job is to receive stool from the colon.
