Program Overview  Secondary licensure area Grade level of primary license  Aligned with ISTE standards  15 credit hours  Can take courses as an undergrad, but program needs to be completed at grad level (once you are within a school setting)  Now being offered online

Course Work  An introductory course on educational technology skills and software related to product development (either EDCI 270/271 or EDCI 560)  A course on design and development of educational technology instructional products (EDCI 561 or EDCI 566),  A course on integrating educational technology in the classroom (EDCI 564),  A course on information security, networking concepts, and technology management (EDCI 591R),  And a practicum in Educational Technology (EDCI 573T).

Portfolio Requirements *EDCI 270/271 Intro to Ed Tech & Computing/ Classroom Apps of Ed Tech Instructional Presentation (generally listed as Project I) *EDCI 560 Ed Tech for Teaching & Learning Instructional Presentation (generally listed as Project III) **EDCI 566 Ed Apps of Hypermedia Design and Development of an open-ended learning environment (e.g. WebQuest with narrative or Digital storytelling project with rationale) **EDCI 561 Introduction to E-Learning Final Project-- all parts EDCI 564 Intgr. & Mgmt. of Computers Integrated Instructional Project-all parts EDCI 591R Leadership in Ed Tech Technology Planning Document (final document only, accompanied by narrative indicating your role, role of team members, reflection on the process). What can you do with this license?  Minimally, you are licensed to teach computer applications at the grade level of your primary license. More importantly, we view the license as a professional credential suitable for technology facilitation at the school level, technology leadership at the district level, and professional development roles in P-12 schools.technology facilitationtechnology leadership  With a license in computer education you would be prepared to teach Computer Applications, Advanced Computer Applications, Web Design, etc.
