Presentation transcript:

Write 1 paragraph that answers the following question: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO CALL SOMETHING ROMANTIC?

Romantic? - period 1 associated with love Associated with the opportunity to express feelings Relationship, cheesy… a way to “woo”; giddy inside The act of giving something… a setting (but not the place itself) Simplicity… to be comfortable, authentic gestures Time period: Moulin Rouge? Characters feel things deeper and dream harder The idealized version of something or an outlook Music…: ex Dirg Gerner Instrumentation, chord structure, really pretty minor chords

Romantic? - period 2 Lovey and heartfelt; more than just kissing; showing love and affection in ways that aren’t literal or obvious – as simple as hand holding, or a long hug Depends on the person’s perspective; going out of your way to make something special for someone; has to truly come from your heart; does not have to be love… Thinking something is sweet; reminds you of love, sacrifice depending on the purpose; the measures it took to get to those feelings Calling an action thoughtful, spending time and effort on someone who means something to you; shouldn’t be hard – you should want to do it for someone else… can be corny, but it still makes you happy No specific meaning. Love is what is romantic.
