The African Rainforest By: Meredith LoRusso

What is the cause of the disappearance of African Rainforests? What percent is already gone? The cause of the disappearances are road construction and slash-and-burn farming. 90% is already gone.

What is the name of the tribe that lives in the rainforest? Describe their customs. The Baka are the tribe that live in the rainforest. They are also know as the Pygmies. They are hunter-gatherers and they rely on the ecological ways of the rainforest.

Meat is easier to come by in the U.S. than in the rainforest. List the animals they get meat from. Their meat comes from small antelopes, cane rats, forest buffalo and forest fish.

List and describe 4 animals in the rainforest. The Black Colobus Monkey is one. You may formerly know him as Zaboomafoo! He is an adorable black and white monkey! Then there is the African Elephant. He can weigh up to 3 tons and he has 2 large tusks. The rainforest Gorilla is a black man-like beast! If you were to walk backwards to him, he’ll consider you a friend! The Pygmy Hippo is a charming animal able to grow 5ft long and weigh 418 lbs. Yet it is the smallest existing species of Hippo scientifically known!!
