Presentation transcript:

summer school July 8,2013

 Copy the objectives below. Use one post it per objective. Obj#1: IWBAT to evaluate my learning this summer by using the FEL and reflecting on my work for the past 15 days. Objective 2: IWBAT to apply and synthesize the concepts I learned in ecology and human structure/function to create my ideal ecohouse in the future. I will then upload the photos of my work on my e-portfolio under Day 15. I understand that Ms. Ng can only grade what she can see. If I do not post pictures of my work, this will significantly lower my grade in the class because this model is a final assessment.

 1. Take a picture of your work from yesterday and upload this on Journal #14  2. Finish the part of the house which will be graded as you final assessment. Remember that you should label it the same way you labeled your diagram.  3. Complete your e-portfolios. You should start working on this by 3:00 pm. Journal #15 should include the final evaluation—prompts are on the wiki

 Since you were not able to post pictures of your work for Day 14. Do this first before completing your work today. Again I can grade only what I can see on your portfolios.  I recorded your assessments on pinnacle. I will be inputting the final project and portfolio ( final grade) grades after 8pm tonight. Just in case you run out of time finishing your portfolio by 5pm, you can still work on it at home until 8pm.

16. Lab #7 Plant experiment ( UPLOAD THIS ON JOURNAL #14 TODAY) 17. Final Project Narrative 18. Final Project Diagram

 You should also do the final evaluation on Journal #15. The prompts are on the wiki.  Do you have all 15 Journal entries?  Are your entries a level 4.0 in terms of reflection?  Did you attach a sample of your student work from Journals 1-9? Did you comment on them?  Did you attach the assessments that you are supposed to attach on Journals 10-15? Did you comment on them. Are these assessments yours? You should not attach work which is not yours on your journal---this includes pictures of the fish dissection. If those are not your pictures, you should not have it on your e-portfolio.

 We had a one-on-one consultation last week as to which part of the house you committed on finishing. That is the one which I am grading. I am basing this on what you proposed on your final diagram and narrative. For example, if you said that you were going to finish the solar roof, that is the one which I will be grading. Make sure you do your best on it, BEFORE you finish the other parts of the house. It is better to finish the part and then spend the time on your portfolios. FOR ES students, you still have close to a month to finish the house before you need to turn that in to me second day I meet you when school starts.

 Please give your green folder ( portfolio) with all of your assessments to Ms. Lor at the end of the period.  Looking at what you have done so far, you should concentrate on finishing your models and e-portfolio. Remember that you have to option of “donating” your work to a 10 th grader. If so, please state on Journal #15 who you donated it to and why.

 Take a picture of what you have done so far with the models, upload this on your FB comm as Journal #4. Abner and Johnny, please post the url to your FB on either Shakim’s or Arelid’s communities.  Remember you need to post 5 entries. The 5 th one should include your final FEL and pictures of your finished work. Do not forget to post the pictures.

 Title: Effect of soil type on growth of radish  Objective: To compare growth of radish depending on the type of soil it is grown  Procedure  Data 1. Chart of measurement ( height) per day once it starts to grow 2. Other qualitative observations 3. Picture of your 2 plants  Discuss your results

 What did you find interesting today? Explain why.  Evaluate yourself using FEL  Project update
