Protecting our nations sea ways since 1794

Why join?  It’s a big thing in my family every male on my fathers side has served and I plan on keeping that military tradition strong.  I want to make my family proud and serve my country

Fun Facts  The United States Navy is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces.  The Navy was created in 1798 to combat the rapid spread of piracy plaguing the merchant ships around the Caribbean.  The U.S. Navy is the largest in the world; its battle fleet tonnage is greater than that of the next 13 largest navies combined.  The U.S. Navy also has the world's largest carrier fleet, with 11 in service.  The Navies combat force is huge with about 333,642 active duty personal.

Career  I would love to join SWCC or (special warfare combat crew) I love water, I love boats, why not join something as insane as SWCC.  I am already an E3 thanks to my sea cadet program  I just need to graduate, get through MEPs, than boot camp, than get into the SWCC program.  I'm determined to get in and will stop at nothing to reach that goal.

Athletics  The navy has almost every sport you can think of from football, to squash, to rowing.  None of the sports really interest me though I just want to become an enlisted member of the navy and serve my country.

Campus life  The navy does not really have a campus life just boot camp unless you go officer. I do not plan on going officer so I get to look forward to 90 days of not talking standing at attention and doing what ever my petty officer pleases

The Benefits  Vacation  Enlisted Sailors and Officers enjoy generous vacation time (in the Navy it’s called leave). You can earn up to 30 paid days leave each year. If you don’t take all 30 days in one year, you can accumulate up to 60 days to use in the future.  Housing, Meal and Tax Benefits  Many states offer significant tax breaks to Navy personnel. In addition, each service member receives a monthly allowance for housing and food – completely tax-free.  Health Care  These days, a good health plan is increasingly rare. Rising medical costs and skyrocketing insurance premiums can make it difficult to afford quality medical care. In America’s Navy, we pride ourselves in providing world-class medical care to Sailors and their families.  This full, comprehensive coverage is available at all military hospitals and dental facilities.  And if any one kind of specific service is unavailable, Navy service members receive referrals to necessary providers. This also is covered by the Navy health-care plan.  In the case of a medical emergency or concern, visiting your local medical facility is also covered.  This level of high-quality health-care coverage is getting harder and harder to find in the civilian sector. In the Navy, it remains standard issue.  Life Insurance The Navy provides all its service members with superior life insurance coverage. A $250,000 life insurance policy costs only $16 a month. A $400,000 life policy is only $26 a month

College afterwards  After my 4 year I plan on going to an actual collage; I have no clue which one yet but I have 4 years to get that figured out.

Pay  The navy is known to pay its sailors generously

Travel  I would be able to see beautiful countries and experience rich culture first hand and get to enjoy all kinds of foreign food
