Selecting a Cell  Use mouse to move the block plus pointer to the cell and then click  Use arrow keys to select cells  A cell is active when a heavy border surrounds the cell

Adding a Chart to the Worksheet  Use the Chart Wizard  It is a 4 step program for creating a chart  It can be found on the standard toolbar, or go to Insert | Chart  Embedded Chart: chart included in a worksheet

Saving a Workbook  Save As vs Save  Save As: First time save of information, no prior saves, or data  Save: shortcut for updating your previously saved data  Toolbar button  The save button looks like a floppy disk.  This shortcut can even be used for first saves of data

Printing a Worksheet  Toolbar Button: preset specifications created by Microsoft to print your document their way (Portrait, 8.5X11)  File | Print: Allows the user to select the layout, position, margins, etc. of your document before it is printed

Quitting Excel  File | Exit  Close Button

Starting Excel and Opening a Workbook  Method 1:  Start on the desktop, Open Office Document  Method 2:  Start, Programs, Microsoft Excel  File | Open or Open button on standard toolbar
