Title must have an interesting font/shape/design… Background must be designed or filled in. Must have interesting images, details, facts, symbols, etc. that represent you and your title. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Doodle Drawing (Optional) (3200, 2200, 1201) This is an optional project. This can be done in the same style as your first doodle project. You will choose an image to represent you to draw in the center of your page (this will be your focal point) and then fill the rest of your page with random doodles, shapes, lines, words, and patterns. Your drawing can be completed in paint, marker, or other art supplies. Please try your best to keep your project neat. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Name Design ( 3200, 1201) Write your name inside the cover of your art book. Name must be large Name must have an interesting font Background must be designed or filled in Must have interesting details, facts, symbols, etc. that represent you. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Negative Space Objects ( 3200) Choose 3 of your own personal objects. Set up a still life of your personal objects (make sure it has an interesting shape). Draw the negative space around the objects. Paint the background around the objects so that your objects are the negative space of the drawing. Include interesting details or patterns in your backgound. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Contour Drawing ( 3200) Choose at least 1 personal object that reminds you of a good memory. Set up a still life of your personal object(s) (make sure it has an interesting shape). Draw the object(s) with contour lines. Draw contour lines around the shadows and all the details of the object and background. If you add colour, make sure you do NOT create values. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Fear (Halloween) ( 3200, 2200) Choose something that you were scared of when you were a child. Create a background that will compliment your idea (Ex: a happy coloured background doesn’t really represent fear or scary images). Draw/paint/collage your scary object/creature. Write a short story (just a few sentences) about what you were afraid of and why. Try to remember that this is a book about your life and should be interesting to read. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Colour Symbolism ( 1201, 2200) Choose your favorite colour. Create a MONOCHROMATIC background of your favorite colour (this can be done by painting or collaging). Creatively write the HUE on the page. Write a sentence (or more) about why that colour is your favorite. Research what your favorite colour tells you about your personality. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Family Tree ( 1201, 2200) Create a tree that will be in the center of two pages (this tree has to be your focal point). Create a background for your tree (this can be done before or after your create your tree). Write your name on the trunk of the tree. Include the names of at least six family members. Include a symbol to represent each of the six family members. This symbol should represent their personality or a memory you have of that person. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Valentine Bas Relief Collage ( 3200) Create bas relief sculpture/collage that has a valentine theme (2 pages). Create a monochromatic background for your valentine page (use magazine images, coloured paper, etc.). Create a 3-dimensional heart that pops up from the background (make sure it doesn’t pop up too much because you will still need to attempt to close your book). Use textures, paper, or found objects to create the bas relief heart. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Love (Valentine's Day) ( 2200) Create a page that defines the word love visually. Create a background that will compliment your idea. Draw/paint/collage objects/symbols that would help you define the word love (you do not have to use a heart). Write a short definition (just a few sentences) of your definition of love. Try to remember that this is a book about your life and should be interesting to read. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.

Favorite Food Watercolour Painting (2200 ) Choose a favorite food that you will use to create a painting. Your food item will be the focal point of the painting, but it does not have to be the only subject matter. Your painting should tell a story. Plan the positioning of your food on the page (will it just be a boring food still life, or will you turn it into something else?). Sketch out your food and other details on the page. Background must be designed or filled in, so you must decide if you will paint it as a wash first, or try to add it later. Add text that would add interest to the painting. BE CREATIVE! This book should show your individuality and represent you as an artist.
