Fuel Systems The gravity feed fuel system is only suitable for high-wing aircraft. The tanks are mounted in the wings above the engine, with gravity causing the fuel to flow from the tanks to the engine. The fuel pump fuel system is used in low-wing aircraft and in high performance aircraft. An engine-driven fuel pump supplies the pressure required to keep the fuel flowing to the engine. Level Three OHP # 1

Fuel Tanks Permanent tanks are located in the fuselage or wing structure where the fuel supply is stored for normal operations. Auxiliary tanks, either fixed or drop type, can be fitted when a greater than normal fuel supply is required. They are located on the external structures of the wings or fuselage. Level Three OHP # 2
