About the ministry Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Srpska is an independent state authority that performs administrative and other tasks in the domain of trade, tourism and hospitality industry and is directly responsible to the Government of the Republic of Srpska.

Activities As part of its legal and normative competence Ministry prepares and proposes in its draft form, the National Assembly or the Government of the Republic of Srpska, laws and by-laws, and other acts of the Republic of Srpska interests, which steams within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism.

Departments Program of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism is realized through two departments: Department for Trade and Department for Tourism and Hospitality

Department for Trade The main directions of trade policy are aimed at removing technical barriers to trade, the simplification of procedures and conditions for the conduct of trade and commercial services. Supports the development of healthy competition in trade in goods and services trade and in particular support the Ministry is aimed at promoting the consumption of local products in order to reduce imports of foreign products.

Department for Tourism and Hospitality Thanks to its natural beauty, ecological and climatic diversity, rich cultural and historical heritage and proximity to major international markets, the Republic of Srpska has significant tourism potential, which in the context of the rapid growth of global tourism are the real development potential.

Department for Tourism and Hospitality The development of tourism is of great importance both for the overall economy and to encourage sustainable development in developing and less developed regions in Republic of Srpska. Among the most important activities of the Ministry is to develop and improve promotional activities that should be focused on priority target markets that are not a waste of power, resources and time, but the real target for certain forms of tourist offer.

Investment opportunities Many accommodation facilities in the tourist areas of the Republic of Srpska require investment and some kind of reconstruction to better develop certain types of tourism. We especially recommend the mountain tourism, spa tourism, eco-tourism, tourism for students who need appropriate accommodation.

Suggestions for possible investment Mountain tourism - accommodation facilities to the Master plan Jahorina Spa tourism - Dvorovi, Ljesljani, Banja Vrucica - reconstruction and renovation of facilities Eco-tourism and youth tourism - accommodation facilities in the National park Sutjeska Other types of tourism that are preferred by the Tourism Development Strategy of the Republic of Srpska
