What is Financial Aid ? Financial Aid is money set aside by Federal government and State of California to help people pay for college expenses. Financial Aid can come in the form of a grand, fee waiver, a work study job, or a loan. It can help you with the cost of education, which includes fees, books, supplies, food, housing, transportation and childcare. The Financial Aid Process Latest tax returns and W-2 forms (yours and your parents if you <24) Driver’s license number Social security number Alien registration number (if applicable) A pin number, (and another one for your parents if you are a dependent student) Mt. SAC School Code Once your FAFSA has been processed, you may be asked to submit some additional forms to the Mt SAC Financial Aid Office with instructions on your next steps.
You will receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) within 2 weeks. It will listed an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that is based on your dependency status, family income, and other factors. Check the SAR for accuracy. (at least five days for Mt SAC to receive your corrected information) View the application status to find the additional forms to complete your file once receiving SAR. Click on MyMtSAC and log in with your user ID and password. Then choose the Financial Tab.
