Overview We are under a national STAR and part of a network of STAR societies around the country. In promoting refugees, we use three main means CampaigningFundraisingVolunteering

Past Year…… Fundraising Dining with STAR: Which was a huge success as we were able to raise close to £500 for Hope Fund £5 a day campaign Campaigning One World Week: STAR peace, Balloon Campaign Film screenings National STAR Conference Volunteering Peace House Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre City of Sanctuary

Moving ahead…goals for this year! Increasing campaigning. The aim is to make at least 80% of Warwick students have some idea however vague of who refugees are and break the myths about refugees. Improve upon Fundraising. Our target for target £1,500. This is a very attainable target once we are able to work together and make all our events a success. By also collaborating with other societies, we hope to be able to reach this target or even go beyond! So if you are also a part of other campaigning societies its great! Even if you are just interested in volunteering with us, I will really urge you to get involved however minimal your contribution is in our fundraising and Campaigning events even if you just turn up to enjoy it.

Membership Because we are under Warwick Volunteers….. You do not need to pay for membership if you are only interested in volunteering However, we really urge you to join the society and pay for membership so that you can enjoy all the benefits. >Discounted tickets for events (e.g charity Dinner) >Campaigning and Fundraising is another way of supporting refugees

Sign up for a Hoodie!- Only £20 if we are able to get over 30 sign ups

The Promise I know it sounds patronizing but this year promises to be such an awesome year. As at now, all our plans are mere plans. We need your input to turn them into reality. Trust me, we can make it BIG!

Bottom line is……. We just want to put ourselves out there and make our causes known. Warwick STAR was awarderd Best New Society and our goal is to make it the Best Society ! Lets make it happen!
