HOW TO END CLASS Do NOT pack up until told. Return textbooks to back counter. Clean desk and floor area. Push in chair.

Grades are your responsibility. I do not give grades, you earn them. GRADES

If you don’t pass a test, you may complete test corrections on your own time to raise your test score to 70%. The test must also be signed by a parent. TEST CORRECTIONS

All assignments are due the next day unless other directions have been given. Any class work not completed becomes homework. All assignments will be written on the white board in class as well as on the online assignment calendar. ASSIGNMENTS

You are responsible for missed work. You may ask for makeup work at the end of class or beginning, not while I am instructing the rest of class. IF YOU ARE ABSENT

Read the lab sheets carefully Take special note of safety instructions PREPARE FOR LABS

Tie back long hair Roll long sleeves above the wrist Remove dangling jewelry Wear shoes that cover the toes Put on protective clothing – goggles, apron or tee-shirt, and gloves GETTING READY FOR A LAB

Help each other. Watch out for one another’s safety Clean up spills immediately. Clean up all materials and supplies after a lab. WORK AS A TEAM IN LABS

Wear goggles for all dissections and any labs using chemicals. Never remove safety glasses or goggles during an experiment. There will be no exceptions to this rule! WEAR YOUR GOGGLES!

If you get a liquid in your eye during a dissection or when working with chemicals, you need to wash out your eye with an uninterrupted, 15-minute supply of water. KNOW HOW TO USE THE EYEWASH STATION

P ull the Pin at the top of the extinguisher. A im at the base of the fire, not the flames. S queeze the lever slowly. If the handle is released, the discharge will stop. S weep from side to side. HOW TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER

Fire retardant blankets are used to smother out a fire, can be used to wrap around an individual, smother a table surface fire, or smother a fire in a waste basket. FIRE BLANKETS

Always keep electric cords away from water. Place extension cords so they do not cause someone to trip or fall. If an electrical appliance isn’t working, feels hot, or smells hot, tell the teacher right away. WHEN WORKING WITH ELECTRICITY
