CSG Short Workshop Organizational and Staff Development for an Unpredictable Future Thursday, May 15, :00-Noon

Context: Winter CSG Discussion During the Digital Strategy workshop at UCSD, there was a sense that while most schools probably don't need a Chief Digital Officer (CDO), we still face the same challenges the CDO role was created to address: the need to innovate and adapt to rapidly changing technology and expectations.

Context: Winter CSG Session Proposal ●Are our existing organizational structures and staff development programs sufficient, or do they need to evolve to deal with these challenges? ●How do you break down the barriers and build relationships between IT groups? ●How do you make staff feel more included and empowered? ●Are we meeting age-graded/generational development needs within our workforce? ●Are there alternatives to formal training / certification? ●How to bring efforts to scale? ●An organization of learners and/or a learning organization?

Our Approach ●Adjusting our Organizational Structures o How do we organize our resources to be most effective? ●Acquiring and Developing Talent o What strategies and mechanisms do we use to ensure that we have the skills that are needed to meet tomorrow’s demands? ●Understanding our Customers and our Staff o Are we relevant to our customers and their needs? o Are our staff engaged?
