Y ELLOW T AKE -H OME FOLDERS Check child’s communication card once a week for teacher comments Sign communication card on the weekend 3 negative signatures in one week = detention with advisory teacher Things to look for on the folder: Missing assignments Comments about behavior and organization

YELLOW TAKE-HOME FOLDERS (CONTINUED) Check for graded assignments and office notes to come home every Friday. “Clean it out” every weekend!

S TUDENT A GENDA Students should have homework written down every day. You could support us from home by: Subscribe to our Google Calendars Subscribing to our teacher websites Monitoring agenda for homework completion Asking questions… What do you have for homework? When is your next quiz, test, major assignment? Have you finished…??

G RADING POLICY Daily assignments are practice. These assignments will not be averaged into their content grade. Minor assessments include quizzes, quick checks, exit tickets, and typically cover less material than a major assessment. Major assessments include tests and projects.

GRADING POLICY Each content area will have a “Work Habits” grade in addition to their content grade. Grades will be reflected as: Exemplary, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement, Unsatisfactory Work habits consist of: Participation Behavior Work completion

CURRICULUM Refer to handouts for specific content information Attend open team meetings in the 5/6 Assembly Room from 10:00-10:30 for up-to-date curriculum information October 28 January 13 March 23

E XPLORATIONS Students will be pulled out of their Social Studies classes twice a week. They will work with Mrs. Hilton in her classroom. New material will not be introduced while they are at Explorations.

T UTORIALS Tutorials will be offered for each teacher. Please see teacher websites for schedules. Students should notify their teacher if they plan to attend tutorials. Occasionally, students will be asked to attend specific tutorial times.

C ONFERENCES We meet as a team to discuss child’s performance in each content area. Please child’s advisory teacher to schedule a conference. Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-10:00 10:00-10:30
