Mr. Brady, Mr. Lee, and Ms. Wilder

 an author's use of vivid and descriptive language to add depth to their work. It appeals to human’s 5 senses to deepen the reader's understanding of the work.

 I went outside by a lake  There was nature  It was night time and pretty dark

 A host, of golden daffodils;  Beside the lake, beneath the trees,  Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.  Continuous as the stars that shine  And twinkle on the Milky Way

 An author makes the reader or audience uncertain or tense about the outcome of events. Suspense makes the reader ask "What will happen next?"

 n/yt/watch?videoId=F93373jTmCQ

 The problem or challenge that the protagonist of a story faces. Conflict is what drives the story forward, and helps plot progress.  Two main kinds of conflict:  External: when the protagonist is fighting against something outside of him/her self.  Internal: when the protagonist is fighting against his/her self.  Ex: when a character is faced with the option to lie, or to tell the truth

 The main character of the story.  Often seen to as the hero of the story.

 The character or group of characters that provide the opposition for the protagonist.  Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker  Voldemort to Harry Potter  Loki to the Avengers

 The use of symbols to represent ideas and qualities by giving them symbolic meanings that are different from their literal sense.  A red rose normally symbolizes romantic love  A broken mirror represents bad luck

 The term used to describe the sequence of events that make up a story.  Exposition  Rising Action  Climax  Falling Action  Resolution

 The time and place that a story takes place.  What is the setting of Batman Begins?

 The result, end, or close of a story.  What would the conclusion of Pirates of the Caribbean be?
