The most import food was caribou. It provided food and warm fur to make cloth.
Kwakiutl men also hunted deer and moose, while women gathered,shellfish, seaweed, roots and berries.
The Nez Perce hunted in the buffalo herds of the open Plateaus.
The women grew corn (maize), squash, pumpkins, and beans. The Pawnee also used horses during there buffalo hunts.

Seminole men did most of the hunting and fishing. Game such as deer wild turkey, rabbits, turtles and alligators were eaten.
