The most import food was caribou. It provided food and warm fur to make cloth.

Kwakiutl men also hunted deer and moose, while women gathered,shellfish, seaweed, roots and berries.

 The Nez Perce hunted in the buffalo herds of the open Plateaus.

 The women grew corn (maize), squash, pumpkins, and beans. The Pawnee also used horses during there buffalo hunts.

 The women raised corn (maize), squash pumpkins and beans.

 Seminole men did most of the hunting and fishing. Game such as deer wild turkey, rabbits, turtles and alligators were eaten.
