Six Rules of the Triple Beam Balance

1.Beam must be level to start

2.Slide all masses to the zero position

3.Use the threaded knob on the left to line up the fixed line on the right with the line on the movable arm

4.Place object on the center of the platform

5.Move the masses until it balances on the zero

6.Mass is the sum of the readings on the three beams

Mass is: A measure of the amount of matter
