Characters Mrs. Starch Nick Marta Graham Smoke Libby

Settings Bus Stop School Black Vine Swamp Mrs. Starch’s House Smoke’s House

Rating Horrible Bad Okay Good Awesome One of the Greatest Books I’ve Read

Favorite Character Marta I like Marta because she is sensitive, quiet, and concerned at times, and other times she is fearless, and adventurous.

Summary of what I’ve read so far. So far Scat is about Mrs. Starch, whom all the kids dislike, and her mysterious disappearance during a school field trip. There was a controlled fire that caused the students and teachers to evacuate. Mrs. Starch disappeared to retrieve a students medicine, and nobody has seen her since. Most of the students had been interviewed. But the main suspect is Smoke, the class trouble maker. Could Smoke really have caused a fire just to get back at Mrs. Starch?
