Goals for the year Use writing as a means for communication and discovery Learn the different modes of writing and accurately use them, including writing for work Improve writing and reading abilities; improve fluency and stamina Discuss, share, and workshop writing with others; discuss and share good reads Use writing and reading as a way to better understand our world

Grading Policy Projects, Quizzes, Tests 25% Daily Work, Usage, Homework 50% Final Essays and Projects 25%

Late Work A lot of our work is completed in class, so there is rarely much homework. However, every student should be reading at least 30 minutes each day, including weekends. Students who miss class can make up work before school, during lunch, or during after school tutorials.
