Welcome to 2 nd Grade Parent Night

Math English Language Arts Social Studies Health and Science Technology

Math Addition, subtraction and are fundamental and must be mastered! Problem Solving is a work in progress. We will work on double-digit addition and double-digit subtraction. Intense focus on measurement. Focus on charts and graphs.

Social Studies What is being a good citizen is our focus this year. We will cover National Monuments, State of Nevada, America’s Past and Present, and citizens who made a difference.

English Language Arts Emphasis will be placed on the writing process, reading comprehension, listening skills, analysis and evaluation of reading/writing passages, spelling, and grammar. Use of thinking maps and graphic organizers will be used to help the children master these skills.

Reading Groups We will be switching for reading in order to best meet your child’s individual needs. We will be using the Trophies series each day to assist us in our strive for excellence! We will also be using a intervention program for students who need a little extra help starting at 9:10 each morning. Please make sure your child arrives at school on time. Thank you!
