Summary eNOTICE is the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Electronic Notification System. You can subscribe to eNOTICE and receive notices when changes occur in the status of a particular permit or when new items are available for viewing.

Step-by-Step Instructions Step 1: Go to the DEP eNOTICE website:

Step 2: Fill out the information under the “New eNOTICE Subscribers” heading. Provide the address you wish to use to receive the notices.

Step 3: Next check which notices you wish to receive. To avoid being bombarded by , you may want to limit it to only DEP Permit Applications.

Step 4: By clicking on the “Change Tracking Selections” link, you can choose specific counties and municipalities, and the programs you want to track, in this case Mining.

When you receive an eNOTICE The will essentially be a list of permit Authorization IDs organized by county that have changed in the last day or so.

Below each ID is a link to eFacts for the permit. By clicking on it you can see what work has been done on the permit. If the link fails to work, you can also check the Authorization IDs manually through the eFacts site at

The also generally indicates how the permit has changed. A permit that is “updated,” usually means tasks have been completed. It may also specify if a task has been started or completed. For example, “completed the following major task: Begin/End Administrative Review on 6/13/2007.” If the permit has been “disposed,” it can indicate that a permit has been issued, returned, or withdrawn.
