 Aim of the study: -Students find difficulty in learning and recalling English vocabulary. -The aim of the study is to find a technique that facilitates learning vocabulary and help students to acquire and recall them better, in order to be used by English teacher inside the class. 22/11/2015 The effectiveness of using games in teaching vocabulary in Saudi Arabian Secondary school. 2 Aim of the study

Gender: Female. Age: 16 years-old. Level: first stage at secondary school. Class: students are divided into three classes.  The experiment: There are two groups of vocabulary. Each group has been taught by and without games in different classes in the same day. In each class, students have been taught the vocabulary for 45 minutes, and then they have a break for 15 minutes. After that they were given a short test about those vocabularies.  First Day: Test descriptionBreak Short Procedure Number of words Class Students are given five definitions for the words that they had learned, and have to write the correct term for each. For 15 minutes -With game. -First they discover the new words by using hangman, they shout letters randomly, and They are given clues: first letter & vowel letters. -Have a discussion about the meaning of them with examples. Students have to discover the meaning and say it in Arabic. Then they read these words from the book with definitions. -The application is using these words to solve gross word game. 51/3 & 1/2 The same testFor 15 minutes They have been taught traditional without using game. Students open their books and read the new words with their definitions. Each one who have definition had read it, and the one who has the correct term show the card to the class. 2-The students were divided into two teams.
