Our Mission By acting as the liaison between Chicagoans and international visitors from around the world, WorldChicago promotes international understanding, appreciation for other cultures, mutual respect, and communication.

Hybrid Domestic Programs (in Chicago, DC, Denver, and Vermont) - Chicago and international youth US – Iraqi Young Leaders Program 2008:  6 students from Chicago (Payton, Wendell Phillips, Michele Clark)  Vermont, Denver, DC  Turkish & German students 2009:  2 students from Chicago ( Michele Clark & Pritzker College Prep – Noble)  leadership program in Vermont  participated in Chicago Iraq program  2010: 4 students from Chicago (Lincoln Park, Gary Comer Charter, Regina Dominican, Foreman HS) – went to Vermont, Denver, DC for 4 week exchange

Outbound Programs - Chicago Youth Abroad  Youth Leadership Exchange to Serbia  March 19 - April 3, 2010  4 students from Chicago  1 from Northside College Prep; 2 from Daniel Hale Williams Prep; 1 from Stevenson High School  Students from other US regions  Travel to Serbia (free of charge!!)  Funded by U.S. State Dept  2011 program to Serbia  Youth Leadership Exchange to Serbia  March 19 - April 3, 2010  4 students from Chicago  1 from Northside College Prep; 2 from Daniel Hale Williams Prep; 1 from Stevenson High School  Students from other US regions  Travel to Serbia (free of charge!!)  Funded by U.S. State Dept  2011 program to Serbia

Ways for Chicago Students & Teachers to Get Involved  Be a homestay host - homestay brothers and sisters often participate in the events and activities with the international guests  Be a day host  Host a professional delegation to give a presentation to your class  Try to get your school engaged and solicit for shadow days  Sign up to receive s from WorldChicago about current opportunities  Apply for exchange program opportunities – being actively involved in the hosting activities provides you with the knowledge and contacts for knowing about the exchange opportunities
