Assignment 1: Entry Requirements & the Selection Process Unit 4: Career Planning Assignment 1: Entry Requirements & the Selection Process Scenario You belong to an organisation which runs a careers advisory service for people in their last year of secondary school. You constantly get complaints from careers teachers in schools, and young people who come into your office, that there is not enough information available on careers in the uniformed public services. As part of your role you have been asked to prepare a presentation (supported with handouts), suitable for delivery to school leavers who are attending a careers exhibition. Your presentation must include information to describe the current entry requirements for TWO different uniformed public services. i.e. to become a police officer and a Royal Marine Commando) It must also describe the application and selection process for BOTH chosen services

You need to complete the table to describe the current entry requirements for TWO different uniformed public services.(i.e. to become a police officer and a Royal Marine Commando) Use the Internet to research the Entry Requirements, Application Forms, Letters of Application and CV details.

Use the Internet to research the selection process, Psychometric tests; Equal opportunity, Physical fitness tests, other types of selection tests including competency questions, basic skills tests, simulations and presentations, Types of interview, Dress code and Preparation for interview – i.e. arrangements, potential questions, research; interview skills
