MMR Licensure : is the process of occupational regulation. Licensure is how states control who is allowed to practice as a health care provider. Granted by government authority Allows engagement in profession. Practicing without licensure is unlawful. Licensure

MMR Holding a license means that : 1.you have completed initial education. 2.you met the requirements to achieve the license. However it Does Not mean you can perform as a paramedic without the supervision of your service’s physician medical director.

MMR Registration : Act of enrolling one’s name in register, or book of record. Registration Saudi Commission for Health Specialties

MMR 1.Emergency medical responder (EMR). 2.EMT. 3.Advanced EMT (AEMT). 4.Paramedic. Four Certification Levels

MMR  An EMR could be any person trained in CPR and/or first aid.  Not all states or countries have this as a certification and/or licensing level.  That is why there is variation between requirements and allowed skills. Emergency Medical Responder

MMR  EMRs should be able to: 1.Recognize the seriousness of a patient’s condition. 2.Administer appropriate basic care. 3.Relay information to the paramedic.

MMR  Formerly called EMT-Basic (EMT-B).  Backbone and primary provider level in many EMS systems.  Must be certified before entering a paramedic education program. EMT

MMR  EMTs are usually trained in: 1.Advanced airway intervention 2.Limited medication administrations 3.Intravenous (IV) fluid therapy

MMR  Formerly called EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I).  Trained in: 1.More advanced Pathophysiology 2.More advanced procedures, such as:  Establishing IV access and Administering IV fluids.  Performing blood glucose monitoring.  Performing some advanced airway management. Advanced EMT

MMR  Highest EMS level to be certified or licensed at the national level.  Trained in more advanced Pathophysiology and procedures. Paramedic

MMR Reciprocity: when certification is granted to a provider from another state or agency. Each state has different licensing or certification requirements and procedures so additional steps may be required. Reciprocity

MMR For reciprocity, most states require you: 1.Hold a current state certification. 2.Are in good standing 3.Have National Registry certification

MMR Individual states may require you to: 1.Undergo the state’s written and/or practical evaluations. 2.Provide your education transcript and continuing education hours. 3.Provide information for a background check. 4.Pay a fee to process your reciprocity application and provide a license.
