Essential Question What is the difference between capital and lowercase letters and what sounds do they make??

Teks-Kindergarten §110.2. English Language Arts and Reading, Kindergarten. Kindergarten students identify and write the letters of the alphabet. Students learn that individual letters are different from printed words, that words have spaces between them, and that print is read from left-to-right and from top-to- bottom.

The students will learn how to recognize, write and pronounce the letters of the alphabet. Learn that we read right to left, the difference betweens letters, words, and complete sentences. As well as capital and lowercase letters. A B C ‘s

The alphabet could be all 3 learning domains but mostly cognitive. The students will learn to know and learn the letters. Comprehend their meaning and sounds. Then apply the letters to everyday things, analyze, synthesize and begin to build words and evaluate. B l o o m s T a x o n o m y

Activities for the Students The students will search around the classroom for as many things as they can that start with the first letter of their name. Each day we will have a letter of the day and base everything that day around it such as our snack for the day. As a group they students will have a worksheet that has a baby animal and a mommy animal along with the capital and lower case letter of the animal and the students must match them all together In partners they will have a letter and try and come up with as many words that starts with that letter in one minute.
