What is an Online High School? Public or private schools that allow high school students to work with their curriculum and teachers using the Internet rather than in a traditional classroom setting. An option for students who need to stay home for health reasons, desire to work at their own pace, find themselves unable to concentrate on their work in the traditional setting, or need to schedule their learning around a career.

Cost of Online High School Education Types of Online High Schools: 1- Public 2- Private 3- University Affiliated

Cost of Public Online HS in OK Currently OK has 900 students Online Numbers continue to increase based on how many students the 6 partnering schools will take Free for full time students Full Time = 6 courses per semester Part Time Students pay $400 per course Generally provide curriculum and other materials at no cost Some offer computer leases and pay for student internet connections

Cost of Private Online HS: No Private Online in OK Tend to be expensive (possible to find non- profit programs) Some are as much as $16,000 for a four- year diploma program Possible to find low-cost alternatives like Penn Foster- complete diploma for around $1,295.

Cost of University Affiliated Online HS: Tend to be expensive Stanford’s gifted-student program costs $13,000 per year, courses run from $495 to $740 each, plus $50 for materials and shipping per course Possible to find schools that charge less than $150 per credit The University of Oklahoma High School costs $1,725 per year ($180 per course) in addition to several fees

Tech Program Option Tech Program will Pay for part time students Students spend ½ day in tech center, and tech center pays for supplemental academic courses
