Santa Margarita Catholic High School Application Process

Step 1: Application Apply on-line at or request a paper application be mailed to you. $50 Application fee (check payable to SMCHS) automatically registers you for the Entrance Exam on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 7:45 am to 12:30 pm.

Step 2 & 3: Visit Your Current School After your current school’s first 8 th grade grading period, provide your current school with the following (forms may be downloaded at our online application site): 1.3 Letters of Recommendation Forms (Math teacher, English teacher, Principal/Counselor) 2.Records Release Form (For 7 th & 8 th Grade Transcripts, Standardized Testing, and Immunization) Your current school will then forward these requested documents directly to our Admissions Office. If you student currently attends a Public Middle School, please request the most recent STAR Testing results.

Step 4: For Transfer Students Only If you are transferring from another high school to SMCHS, write your Student Essay and send to the Admissions Office. The Student Essay may be downloaded at our online application webpage. Your application will be reviewed for an acceptance decision as soon as your application file is complete.

What Happens Next? We ask that your child’s application file be complete by January 28, 2012 (letters of recommendation, transcripts, standardized testing, $50 application fee, immunization record). Our Admissions Committee will review your child’s application and mail acceptance letters in late February.
