Conclusion or Interpretation Answer the question in the purpose statement How did the decisions made at the Congress of Vienna create two opposing political philosophies?

The decision makers at the Congress of Vienna tried to stop the growing feeling that people are entitled to equality under the law. They did this by trying to return to attitudes that were dominant before the French Revolution. Europe, however, would never be the same. Once people are provided with a taste of equality its nearly impossible to take it away

Simile Exercise On the blank sheet of paper complete the following with an image. The Congress of Vienna decision makers’ attempt in trying to stop the advancement of rights and equality is like….

The Congress of Vienna decision makers’ attempt in trying to stop the advancement of rights and equality is like…. Trying to put tooth paste back in the tube. Both are impossible to do without creating a mess or conflict Simile Exercise Example Toothpaste represents the ideas of natural rights and equality Those that squeezed out the paste represents the middle class that revolted Those that tried to put the paste back in represent the decision makers at the Congress

Requirements: Must complete the sentence with a modern day analogy Include an image complete with color Use arrows to point to the image and a brief explanation Starting Point: Need something to represent equality/rights, middle class, and that class trying to take back the rights
