I. Themes in History A. Continuity and Change 1. What things are similar and different throughout history? 2. How have archeologists, historians, and geographers helped us learn about the lives of people at different stages?

B. Economics and Technology 1. How do societies maintain their lives? 2. What role did technology play as the oldest people on earth developed?

C. Religions and Value Systems 1. What religious beliefs were held by the earliest people? 2. What kind of religious practices did the earliest people participate in?

D. Political and Social Systems 1. What is a political system? 2. What is a social system? These questions should be answered throughout the first chapter.

Directions Go to page 10, and under Section 1 Review, do the vocabulary in question 1 in your notebooks! You have 15 minutes to complete this task!
