WELCOME TO OUR FIRST OPEN HOUSE November 17,2009 6p.m. – 8 p.m.

 Has a heart for teaching  This is my 1 st Year teaching  Born and raised in Memphis, TN  Attended Shady Grove Elementary  Graduated from Treadwell High School  Received my Associate’s of Applied Science in Office Systems Technology from State Technical Memphis in 1997  Got my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Crichton College in 2010  Before teaching I worked at FedEx Trade Networks in accounting

 To make myself available to each parent  To give a quality education to your child  To make learning a wonderful experience  To encourage your child to do their best  To help your child achieve academic goals

I will be using the “THREE STRIKES YOU’RE OUT” system.  At the beginning of the year, each student will be given a baseball with their name on it and it will contain three bats, this will be placed on a bulletin board.  Conduct grades will be given daily and can be found on a calendar stapled to the left hand side of the homework folder. (It must be initialed by a parent or guardian.)  The first bat is green and if it is pulled, the student’s conduct grade will drop from an E to a S.  The second bat is yellow and if it is pulled, the student’s conduct grade will drop from a S to a N.  The third bat is red and if it is pulled, the student’s conduct grade will drop from a N to an U and their recess time will be taken away. Also a note will be sent home to be signed and returned the next day.  Four or more U’s within the month will result in a parent/teacher/principal conference to discuss the student’s behavior and what can be done to improve it.

Talking is not permitted unless you have permission. Gum and candy is not allowed in class. Keep your hands to yourself at all times. Be respectful to the teacher, your classmates, and yourself. Remain in your seat unless you have permission to be on the floor.
