Hello

Stalin was born Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili on Dec. 21, 1879, in Gori, Georgia. He was the only surviving son of Vissarion Dzhugashvili, a cobbler who first practiced his craft in a village shop but later in a shoe factory in the city. Stalin's father died in His mother, Ekaterina, a devoted and uneducated peasant woman, sent her teen-age son to the religious school in Tpilisi (Tiflis), where Stalin prepared for the ministry. Shortly before his graduation, he was expelled in 1899 for spreading subversive views.

In June 1904 Stalin married a Georgian girl named Ekaterina Svanidze, a simple, devout peasant girl who was devoted to him. His wife died of tuberculosis on April 10, 1907, leaving a son, Jacob. His second wife, Nadezhda Alleluyeva committed suicide in 1932 presumably in despair over Stalin's dictatorial rule of the party. The only child from his first marriage, Jacob, fell into German hands during World War II and was killed. The two children from his second marriage outlived their father, but they were not always on good terms with him. The son, Vasili, an officer in the Soviet air force, drank himself to death in The daughter, Svetlana, fled to the United States in the 1960s.

 Shortly before his graduation, Stalin was expelled from the theological seminary in Tpilisi (Tiflis) in 1899 for spreading subversive views.  In 1901 Stalin was elected a member of the Tpilisi committee of the Russian Social Democratic Workers party. The following year he was arrested, imprisoned, and subsequently banished to Siberia.  Stalin spent the major portion of the years from 1905 to 1912 in organizational work for the movement, mainly in the city of Baku. The secret police arrested him several times, and several times he escaped. Eventually, after his return from Vienna, the police caught him again, and he was exiled to the faraway village of Turukhansk beyond the Arctic Circle. He remained there until the fall of czarism. He adopted the name Stalin ("man of steel") about 1913.

 Stalin played a relatively inconspicuous role in the preparations for the October Revolution, which placed the Bolsheviks in power.  The Soviet Union under Stalin industrialized and urbanized with great speed. The nation by the end of Stalin's life had become the second most important industrial country in the world.  Stalin established a new kind of political system characterized by unprecedented severity in police control, bureaucratic centralization, and personal dictatorship.  Stalin changed the ideology of communism. Stalin sought to promote good relations with the capitalist countries and urged Communist parties to ally themselves with moderate and middle-of-the-road parties in a popular front against the radical right.  Under Stalin the Soviet Union won the war, emerged as one of the major powers in the world.

Stalin’s personality was at issue, and it remains hidden in mystery. Stalin was crude and cruel and, in some important ways, a primitive man. His cunning, distrust, and vengefulness seem to have reached crazed amounts. In political life he tended to be cautious and slow-moving. His style of speaking and writing was also clumsy and graceless. He was at times, however, a clever public speaker and a formidable opponent in debate. Stalin seems to have possessed endless energy and an amazing capacity for absorbing detailed knowledge.

Communist ideology, Marxism V.I Lenin

He established the second largest super power in the world, USSR He was one of the international recognizable communist leaders

... we are heading for the formation of a classless socialist society. It goes without saying, that [this]... cannot come of itself... It has to be built by the efforts of all the working people, by strengthening the organs of the dictatorship of the proletariat [particularly the Party], by intensifying the class struggle, by abolishing classes, by eliminating the remnants of the capitalist classes, and in battle with enemies both internal and external. We communists are... made of special stuff, he declared. The Soviet Union would create socialism alone. This policy met with approval from the Russian people, who were weary of waiting for revolutions abroad. But in order to survive without support from other countries, the USSR needed to create a strong industrial economy. The peasants, who formed the majority of the population had to be persuaded or forced to abandon their traditional way of life. The way to do this was to introduce state-controlled industrialization.

Stalin’s original name was Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili Stalin’s name means “man of steel” because he had gone through many rough times in his early adulthood. After stalin died in 1953 but Stalins remains did not rest in peace. Eight years later they were removed from their original position because it was considered:...inappropriate, since the serious violations by Stalin of Lenin's precepts, abuse of power, mass repressions against honorable Soviet people, and other activities in the period of the personality cult make it impossible to leave the bier with his body in the mausoleum of VI Lenin.
