The Campbell’s of Cawdor The Campbell‘s of Cawdor lived in Scotland and came to Stackpole Estate for their holidays. They had several more estates scattered over England. If you were on the Eight Arch Bridge, you would be able to see the platform where the Campbell’s old Manor House used to stand. The Campbell’s hired the best of the best workers to hollow out a river that, at the time, would be a beautiful man made lake. Further along the lake, there is the One Arch Bridge. Just before is the hidden bridge. It is called this because if you stand on the One Arch Bridge, it’s impossible to see it. If someone walks across this bridge, it will have the impression that they are walking on water.
