Introduction Efforts to solve the problem Bring in “experts” on church growth Initiate a “personal work program” What is the solution?

Love of The Truth Some cease loving the Truth Stop opposing error, false doctrine, and worldliness Grow weary of conflict and controversy

Love of The Truth The early church Prayed when threatened (Acts 4:24-31) Rejoiced when beaten (Acts 5:41, 42) Resulted in growth (Acts 4:4; 6:1-7)

Love of The Truth Paul “Set for the defense” (Philippians 1:17) Asked for prayers (Ephesians 6:19) Found controversy (Acts 9:27-29; 19:8) Not put to shame (Philippians 1:20) Bolder by suffering (1 Thessalonians 2:2) The “good fight” (1 Timothy 1:18; 6:12)
