Apple is believed to have created a suite of software to make it easier and cheaper for publishers to create attractive digital versions of newspapers and magazines, with high-resolution photos and videos integrated into articles.

A dozen newspapers are already on board with Apple and presently have their own iPad app The new service will initially be available in the US and later on forwarded to other regions. The tech giant is waiting for the negotiations to turn fruitful with the publishers, as to what cut would the Apple share from each subscription. Currently 30 percent of the share, Apple takes from music, games and other application sales. Several publishers, including Time Warner and Next Issue Media have refused to sign the Apple’s offer, mainly due to revenue sharing.
