The Face of Truth

¿What´s CLAM? Maccabi Latin American Confederation, (Constituted in Uruguay, May 1950) represents Maccabi World Union in Latin America It coordinates and creates activities for the integration of Latin American Countries, under the umbrella of the Maccabi Movement It reunites associated members in 15 countries integrating the JCCs or Maccabi structures in each country or community. MACCABI WORLD UNION has members distributed in 50 countries in the 5 continents.

But ¿Why is CLAM Engaged in Hasbara?

Responsibility of the Jewish communities to explain, justify, refute or contextualize what is happening in the Middle East.

Anguish of some Jews trying to defend and to explain Israel's position when there is conflict in the area.

CLAM brings together a wealth of community services in the continent and a large number of young activists and leaders

Extend the feeling that there are things we can do to defend Israel actively. OUR ACHIVEMENTS

To deepen the target: Evangelists, local journalists, and politicians Expositions and “El Canal de la Paz” Chronics for TV Book Editorial and constant messages in Twitter, Facebook Book Editorial and constant messages in Twitter, Facebook Masa Program – Katavim and special assignments for Activists NEXT CHALLENGES

Israel Advocacy in the Jcc: ¿Why is this also our role? Jcc´s in Latin America are becoming a central reference to the communities Leadership training is a main objective in our Jcc´s. A Jewish leader have to be informed. The information should be unified and coherent. The campaign against Israel is well organized by specialists in propaganda. JCC has a central role in training young people, and adults that are aware of the Israel delegitimization campaign.

Problems and Challenges to Consider JCCs are not political institutions and these matter have political implications: Always have the local political institution inside the training and the hasbara activities An official speaker should be appointed and informed if journalist become aware of the involvement of the JCC To engage in this kind of program the JCC have to compromise with an ideology. ¡This is a hard but very important work to do!

"In times of crisis, the Jew feels that anyone who touches Israel, is touching the apple of his eye." Abraham J. Heschel
