7th Grade Advanced Math New Common Core Standards What does that mean for my child? Fewer concepts More in-depth More rigorous Mastery learning Level Playing Field

The Common Core Standards The Number System Rational and Irrational Real Expressions and Equations Work with radicals and Integer Exponents Proportional Relationships/Linear Equations Analyze and solve linear equations and Functions Define, evaluate, and compare functions Use functions to model the relationships between quantities

Geometry Understand congruence and similarity Understand and apply the Pythagorean Theorem Volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres Statistics and Probability Investigate patterns of association in bivariate data.

Develop the following Mathematical Practices Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. Reason abstractly and quantitatively. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. Model with mathematics. Use appropriate tools strategically. Attend to precision. Look for and make use of structure. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
