Which calculator is going to help me most in Academic Chemistry??? My favorite calculator is the TI-30XA because it serves every function we need in chemistry, is the easiest to use, and is only $10!!! You will need a calculator that can put numbers into scientific notation. You need a calculator that can do that function EASILY!! When shopping for a calculator, look for the button with an EE or EXP on it. Look at the pictures to follow.

This calculator is a scientific calculator but it does not have EE function. Yes, it can still put numbers in scientific notation but is very time consuming because you have to press several buttons to put a number in scientific notation. You will make mistakes using a calculator without EE!!!
