It weighs about 19,350 pounds when it is empty. The B-17 Flying Fortress Can carry up to 6 tons (12,000 pounds) of bombs. Each bomb weighs over 1000 pounds and sit right behind the cockpit

On large combat planes they are on the front where the pilot is. Usually there on the sides behind the wings. When there on the tail there 40mm turrets. Torpedoes‘ or Bombs The torpedoes and bombs are used to take down large watercraft. There are never more than 10 torpedoes on one airplane.

Conclusion Military Aircraft are very helpful when in a war because they can carry large amounts of bombs and fly fast.
